
Welcome back to the Grimsby Skating Club- We hope everyone is enjoying this very hot weather and looking forward to the upcoming skating season in a nice cool arena! Our Programs will run out of the West Pad of the Grimsby Peach King Community Centre and will not be affected by the ongoing construction.
We are happy to let you know that we will be offering the following skating programs this fall: CanSkate, Pre-CanSkate, Parent & Tot, StarSkate, Junior, Intermediate 1-2, Intermediate 3-4 and Senior Skating. (please see the bottom of this message for a brief description of each skating level)
Registration is now open. We will be filling registration spots on a first come, first served basis.
There are 2 online links to registration forms with instructions **please use the appropriate link for your skating level** The Concussion Protocol form should be filled out and brought to the arena on your first day of skating (no need to email it to us)

Please be sure to check our Instagram & Facebook page for regular updates, and watch your email prior to the start of the season.
It is important to add our email address to your “safe senders list” as sometimes we send out group emails that will bounce back without it.
Program Descriptions:
Parent & Tot:
- This program is for beginner skaters of any age who have not skated before and wish to have a parent/guardian work within the group session with them on the ice (note – any skater under the age of 3, nut register for this program)
PreCanSkate:
- This program is a group format for beginner skaters aged 3 and up who have not skated before and are unable to get up on their own
CanSkate:
- This program is for skaters who have completed the PreCanSkate program and/or can get up on their own, take instruction and be independent during the session. This group will work on Balance, Skills and Agility within the CanSkate Levels 1-3.
StarSkate:
- This program is for skaters who would like an introduction to figure skating. This group will work on Balance, Skills and Agility within CanSkate Levels 4-5 and must wear figure skates. We prefer skaters register for 2 days per week in order to keep up with the group skills level.
Junior:
- This program is for skaters who are working on CanSkate level 6. We prefer skaters register for at least 2 days per week in order to keep up with the group skills level.
Intermediate Level 1/2:
- This program is for skaters who are working on Star Levels 1 & 2 and have completed CanSkate Level 6
Intermediate Level 3/4:
- This program is for skaters who have passed a minimum of 2/3 of Star Level 2 (Freeskate/Skills/Dance) or as recommended by a coach
Senior (Star 5+):
- This program is for skaters who have passed a minimum of 2/3 of Star Level 5 (Freeskate/Skills/Dance) or as recommended by a coach
